WHAT IS INFRARED SAUNA THERAPY?
Infrared Sauna Therapy promotes relaxation by helping to balance your body’s level of cortisol, your body’s primary stress hormone. The heat created by the sauna will also help to relax muscles and relieve tension throughout the body, allowing you to relax and de-stress. By increasing circulation and relaxing muscles the session can also help relieve pain whilst eliminating unwanted toxins through sweating.
Unlike a traditional sauna, infrared saunas don’t heat the air around you. Instead, they use infrared lamps (that use electromagnetic radiation) to warm your body directly, this is why people find it easier to sit in a infrared sauna rather than a traditional sauna.
An infrared sauna can operate at a lower temperature (usually between 45˚C and 60˚C) than a traditional sauna, which is typically between 65˚C and 80˚C.
THINGS TO NOTE BEFORE YOUR SAUNA SESSION.
Make sure you’re hydrated before going into an infrared sauna. Drink a glass of water before your session. You can also bring water into the sauna, especially if you’re sensitive to higher heats.
CHOOSE A TEMPERATURE
If this is your first time, start with 45˚C. You may want to stay at this temperature for a few sessions. You can always increase the temperature each session.
WHAT TO WEAR
How you dress is your choice. Some people will wear bathing suits, while others prefer to go in naked.
WHAT TO DO WHILE IN THE SAUNA
Relax, read, meditate, listen to music, or visit with friends. Just don’t go to sleep!
AFTER YOUR SESSION
When your session is done, it’s suggested that you take
your time and let your body cool down. Our private Sauna room is a cooler temperature, completely refreshing you when you hop out of the sauna. Make sure you are drinking plenty of water!
